They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. After 18 years, I feel confident when I say that My Sister‘s Garage is the OG local vintage decor shop. Of course, we have been copied over the years. From general style and ideas to specific paint colors and product lines. It can be bittersweet owning a non-proprietary business. We even had furniture purchased at Brimfield by Pottery Barn and Anthropologie to be used as prototypes for mass production! It was brought to my attention this morning and I am truly confident that it was a mistake and not intentional that our lead photo (below) from our album was posted in another shop’s album as their own last week. I am not interested in naming names or public apologies but am just requesting that it quietly be removed please. I am not looking backward but only moving forward in a most friendly way.
